Independent AES-128-GCM keys are generated when admin creates each group. Freeze, revoke and membership edits rotate affected keys. Old keys remain for admin archive access only.
Ciphertext is retained in the encrypted admin vault. Device-local history is separate and is not replayed by the service. Up to 1,000 records or 2 MiB retained; the view shows the latest 200.
